Tom's Memory: 1977 Grey Cup
This memory was shared by a fan.
A group of guys from Queen's (Kingston) came to Montreal for the 1977 Grey Cup. We stayed in one room at the Queen E II hotel downtown with mattresses spread across the room. With the Metro on strike we hitchhiked to the big O. Never forget the kindness of a francophone couple to squeeze four freezing anglophones into their car and drive us to the big O.
Then Sonny Wade and a great Al's team put staples on their shoes and went on to crush the Eskimos and capture the 1977 Grey Cup. I live in Edmonton now but still proud to cheer for the Als.
