Fourth Grey Cup

On Sunday, November 27, 1977, Montreal was simultaneously paralyzed by a transit strike and a fierce snowstorm. However, this didn’t prevent the team’s fans from setting an attendance record (that still holds today) for a Grey Cup of 68,318.

Don Sweet kicked for 6 successful field goals and 23 points (two Grey Cup records) and Sonny Wade completed 22 passes for 340 yards gained and 3 touchdowns, carrying the Alouettes to a crushing 41 to 6 victory over the Eskimos. It was Montreal’s third Grey Cup in eight years.
